We continue to look at modern services from the point of view of privacy.
*In each program, we review the following parameters:
Cookie banner, Cookie policy, Privacy Notice, compliance of the Notice on the processing of personal data with legal requirements, Terms of use, transparency, minimization and necessary checkboxes.
If you're still not using a grammar checker, you need Grammarly. We all know that typos happen, and sometimes we can't spot minor mistakes, but all of that can be prevented with this extension.
Grammarly not only checks everything you type online, but also gives advice on spelling, punctuation, clarity, and writing style. The program works almost everywhere in your browser: Google Docs, Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Slack, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Medium and Notion are just some of the supported pages.
That way, you don't have to spend so much time looking at everything you're working on, and it doesn't get confusing!
Search faster and highlight the Internet.
LINER is "the pen your online pages have been missing."
With this extension, you can highlight any web page, image, and PDF file just like a regular book. This also works on YouTube, where you can mark moments to watch later.
The tool lets you annotate, collect and manage all your statistics in one place, so you can work fast and smart.
Organize your browser tabs and quickly open them anywhere
Toby for Chrome aims to solve a common problem faced by many remote workers: endless open tabs in Google Chrome.
The extension lets you create and manage different collections of tabs, providing a visual workspace that's easy to navigate every day, access, and automatically sync with other desktops.
This saves you time and keeps your browser organized, allowing you to work on different projects at your convenience - without losing or finding an important web page.
Capture articles, videos, and anything else you find online.
Sometimes bookmarks or tab managers are not enough. If saving something to read later is important to your work, why not save it to Pocket?
This extension organizes every piece of content you want at your fingertips in a clean, distraction-free space that you can access from all your devices. Content includes articles, images, videos, links, news, stories, recipes, memes, and more, really anything you want to save.
It's very easy to use: you can save content by clicking the Pocket button on the toolbar, right-clicking, or using a keyboard shortcut.
Get organized with Todoist for Chrome.
Of course, working outside the office is not an easy task. This implies certain maturity in the organization of tasks, which perhaps not all of us possess. Todoist is a simple functional extension that helps you complete all your work tasks and avoid procrastination at once.
It integrates with everything, and you can schedule and set recurring tasks, add deadlines, save websites to your reading list, and quickly plan your work day. The best part of this add-on? You don't need to leave the browser window to mark actions as done. It's as simple as it gets.
Track your time from anywhere on the web and increase your productivity.
Our final pick is a Chrome tool that helps you from start to finish.
Whether you're working alone or with a team, Clockify is an open source extension that helps you track time from planning to delivery.
This plugin can log the time you spend anywhere on the Internet and provide you with online reports that can be exported if needed. It integrates with several other apps, has auto-stop and inactivity detection, and lets you set timers and reminders.
You can also track time spent together on projects and easily monitor your team's progress.
*Analysis methodology
The following criteria are used for general review of applications and sites for compliance with GDPR requirements:
Presence or absence of cookies banner and cookie policy (for websites);
Presence or absence of a notification about the processing of personal data;
The presence or absence of actions to ensure that users are informed about data processing practices (checkboxes, links to documents);
The completeness of the notification about the processing of personal data (conditional evaluation of 1 or 2 points, compliance with GDPR requirements for the components of the document. So, for example, the presence of a specific definition of the person of the controller of personal data gives 2 points, the definition of the grounds for processing another 2 points, and so on.
Please note that this assessment is conditional and a complete passing of our "compliance test" does not mean that the website or application fully meets all requirements and ensures privacy principles, i.e. is fully GDPR-compliant.
